2024 Award Winners

The scholarship committee: Carol Wolfenbarger, Jerry Driggs Don Caldwell, received scholarship applications and carefully read the requests. This year we received some of the strongest responses to the scholarship application.
According to the Association’s guidelines students who are graduating seniors at South High School with a GPA of 3.0 or higher and graduating seniors with a GPA of 3.0 or higher from another high school who are family members of an Active Member of South High School Alumni Association are eligible to apply for a SHSAA scholarship. A college student who has completed at least two semesters with a GPA of 2.5 or higher and is a family member of an Active Member of SHSAA may apply. Students enrolled in college who previously have received a SHSAA scholarship may request additional support to continuing their education.
The Board of Directors voted to give eight scholarships totaling $23,000.00.
These are the recipients of SHSAA scholarships for 2024:

Isabela Rodriguez Ortiz - Received a scholarship as a South High senior, The Career Pathways Award, Attending Ohio Wesleyan, $3,000
Greyson Godfrey - Received a scholarship as a South High alumni legacy, The Bulldog Support Award, Attending West Virginia University, $2,000
Hannah Yochem - Received a scholarship as a South High alumni legacy, The Bulldog Support Award, Attending The Ohio State University, $2,000
Rebecca Higgins - Received a scholarship as a South High senior, The Jim Driggs Award, Attending Columbus State University, $2,000
Adavion Brankston - Received a scholarship as a South High senior, The Bulldog Support Award, Attending Ohio Dominican University, $2,000
Nathaniel Lewis - Received a scholarship as a South High senior, The Bulldog Support Award, Attending The Ohio State University Newark Branch, $1,000
Jane Ulaba Samura - Received a scholarship as a South High senior, The Bulldog Support Award, Attending Kentucky State University, $1,000
